Ok, I admit it. This is a step I did not see coming. I think it is great i can run Vista on my MacBook using parallels. I think it is great I can run Vista, and OpenSuse in parallels thereby having almost immediate access to the three platforms that interest me most. I just did not see the day coming when I could buy a Mac pre-loaded with parallels and a version of Windows…wow!
Apparently, this is the move of a major distributor – Tech Data. I have worked a lot with Tech Data over the years back to when I managed a pc clone retail store (I would add that we sold primarily Leading Edge equipment but that would date me) and I always found them to be innovative in what they could bring to the channel. They always were looking for ways they could add value rather than just be a parts shop. I applaud this effort and although they will never admit it, I believe Apple applauds it also.
